Guide :Dehumidifiers : DH5010B Dehumidifier

Leaks water I had read your possible causes for the unit leaking water. They are very high level & don't address an apparent recurring problem with Goldstar units. In 2 years I have used 2 units. Both leaked water, and one is almost new. The manual supplied with the unit really doesn't reveal the engineering problem with the unit. Obviously, this is a problem with units that occurs regularly. I have cleaned the unit & observed it without going into the motor/evaporator et al. If I can find my receipt I'm going to take back the new unit. I believe the problem is in very humid areas (I'm in central FL) the unit operates 24/7. The water collects in the unit & unless frequently dumped backs up in collection line(s). The water becomes "thick" due to dust, mold, etc. & clogs the lines causing the unit to leak. Goldstar should offer a remedy for this (even a disclaimer would do). Simply to ignore the problem then pass the customer off to an appliance repair shop isn't fair.
